Requested a Credit Line Increase. Spoke to someone in India - indicated that I was going to be traveling, and wanted the extra security. The agent made the request, and indicated that I was declined.

I got a letter in the mail, indicating that the reason for my CLI being declined, was due to
The data you provided to verify your identity does not match our records...

I've emailed the company requesting some clarification, and have not heard anything back

I would like reconsideration of the CLI request, without any hard pull on my credit bureau. I have been a customer with perfect payment and plenty of usage for long enough. I am going to close this account if satisfaction is not recieved.

Did the HSBC resolve this matter for you? I wrote a somewhat similar
letter yesterday. Just curious if you've heard anything.....

We've seen this complaint several times before on this site -- and
it's never made sense. Even when a letter writer went to great
lengths to prove they were who they said they were, they would still
get rejected (more than once) based on the silly "We don't know who
you really are" reason.
