Inferior food quality, high prices and poor service

Going out for Lunch once a month to IHOP, and the other day, we had ordered two omelets, glass of ice tea, onion rings, and my husband asked for extra jalapenos with his omelet. The toast was barely buttered, and hard. Much to our surprise, we later learned that IHOP charged us another 69 cents for a couple of those spicy items. The total bill came over $30.00, and for the quality of food, this seems to be not a good place to spend your eating Dollars. On wwww.urbanspoon.com, IHOP is listed very poorly, wondering why?

It seems to be hopeless to tell IHOP what to do! Management is not interested in hearing, how the food, service can be inmproved.

did you talk to the manager about the food quality?

as for the charge for extra items you requested... would that have
mattered if you had liked the meal?

IHOP is REALLY stingy with butter, for some reason, but our local one
will always bring more when we ask, at no charge.

As for being charged for jalapenos, as a general rule when one asks
for "extra" anything, one should expect a charge. If you want extras,
and are unsure whether you will be charged, may I suggest asking "How
much would it be for extra_____?"
