Our twins have outgrown the infant car seat and moved on to a convertible
car seat. I bought the Britax Marathon and so far so good. I had the trauma
experts at Cincinnati's Children's Hospital install them for me. During
the installation they looked over the entire car for any issues. They told
me that my First Years Car Shade could be a serious hazard for our babies
if we got in an accident. Simply becuase the suction cups holding the
shade to the window can be easily dislodged in the case of an accident and
become a dangerous flying object. No one has ever mentioned that safety tip
before and I want to share the perspective to all interested parties. Makes
perfect sense to me...so goodbye First Years Car Shade.

My reco: Don't even buy the First Years Car Shade -- just stick to
sunblock.

But thanks for the information. I will keep that in mind for my nephew or
any future children I might have. My son is 7 now so it isnt an issue for
us. But dont they have some now that just stick to the window without
suction cups? They dont roll up like the ones with the suction cups but
they seem to be darker.
