I disagree with just about all of you. Part of the job is to go up to people and ask if they need any help.

They may just be looking at the moment but the employee isn't a mind reader either. How is the epmloyee supposed to know unless they ask?

As for telling the guard---that doesn't do any good. He should have asked for the manager and told him.
