Re: Stop the Pain, Verizon!

I have to assume that you took more than the standard television package and that's why your bill is higher. We accepted our cable company's triple play (all three services). It was advertised at $99 per month but because my husband just "has to have" every channel known to man, we ended up with the gold package and it runs about $150 per month. It's still cheaper than what we were paying for all three separately which was over $200 per month.

You need to ask them to break down exactly what you are getting. Are you being charged for more channels or pay per view? On demand? These are all extra, above the package pricing. I don't understand what you mean by "telephone service costs". As far as the phone goes, it's one price for everything except maybe international calling.

It seems you have a problem with the FIOS internet access. There is no way it's slower than DSL unless you had 3.0 DSL and then is should be about the same. I would look into that.

You are going to get equally as nickled and dimed with Comcast (or any cable provider) as you are with Verizon. They are all pretty much the same.
