Re: Return of Microsoft Vista Ultimate to Walmart
by Casmly - Posted Fri July 6, 2007 @ 3:36 PM

Am I the only one that doesn't find this letter believable? Someone's father goes out and purchases them a $400 piece of software that isn't compatible with their computer? I don't know of anyone who would spend that kind of money on me without knowing for CERTAIN that I have a computer that will support it and a need for the software in the first place. I say that either Dad had a friend that purchased the software and couldn't use it and needed to unload it, or that this entire thing is a scam. It would certainly be a good way of getting in writing confirmation of the OP's ability to return the software before having to step foot into Walmart itself and risk being caught. Even if this is a legit letter, how do we know the software wasn't purchased from Ebay or other reseller? This is the reason why retail establishments are having to toughen their rules.
