I was not aware of that. I think my mother is allergic to sulfa and was told, at one time, that she didn't need mention it because it was rarely used. I'll let her know she got faulty information and to update her patient records.

As someone who is drug sensitive, I mention any and all reactions no matter how slight. I'm one of the 10% crossover people who is allergic to PCN and Keflex. I'm also alleric to Levaquin, latex and most antibiotic creams. I can't take prednisone due to the osteonecrosis I developed because of it. That is another reason I only use ONE pharmacy and make sure they are aware of any changes. I also research any new med I am given and ask questions when I fill the prescription. I always try not to use the pharmacy when it's busy and give them plenty of time to fill my prescription. I want their full attention when I ask questions.

I just never thought to tell the hospital about my laundry soap allergy, it just didn't occur to me. I'll never make that mistake again!
