Re: Walmart Sells Inappropriate Clothing for Children
by MA Loper - Posted Mon August 13, 2007 @ 4:21 PM

I guess I'm kind of surprised that WalMart would sell something so controversial at all - after all, weren't they the ones who pulled all the Tinky Winky dolls and action figures from the shelves because of what he was "perceived" to stand for?

The saddest part is that they would even market such a slogan to teens and tweens at all. I hate to blame the brain dead parents for simply following the trend, but at the end of the day, the only one responsible for raising my children is me. What I do and don't condone shapes their values and moral code.

I have to wonder that despite WalMart selling these items (there must be some incredibly lucrative incentive involved here for them to pimp out children's wear like that!) have you considered sending this same letter to the manufacturer? Bottom line, it was their rocket scientists that came up with this concept - let them explain why they thought it would be a "good idea."
