Why would you let them mail anything through the mail of this type? I personally would not want an $80,000 check put into the mail. I would go to the bank and get my money when I wanted it, once the CD had expired. Or, I would have it transferred electronically to wherever the new place was that I was going to be saving it. Are you not near one of their branches?

Instead of the call center, you might want to call a local branch and speak with a manager. Maybe you have done this already, but I could not tell from what you wrote.
