My attitude towards stuff like this is the same as my attitude back in the 90s when they wanted to teach Ebonics in California schools in place of English. Fine, I don't care, but without English you aren't going to go very far in this country. To me it is just common sense to become fluent in the dominant language of the country where you are living, but that doesn't mean all other languages should be ignored or downgraded. When I see signs in Spanish, I am always pleased if I can read it, since it means I haven't forgotten what I once knew.
