Re: Very Dissatisfied with Legalzoom.com

Although I agree that Legalzoom seems to have messed up when they used the wrong business name on the items they sent you, I don't think you can blame them entirely. Since you did indeed have a conversation with them regarding your chosen name versus the name you ended up with, why wouldn't you have checked the legal documents for the correct name? And to go a step further, even If they had your chosen name in the legal documents, why wouldn't you have spoken to a representative and have them clarify things for you? With something as important as a business, I would want to make sure that everything is set up properly to begin with. If you are so concerned about the possibility of a law suit down the line, I'd suggest you consult an actual lawyer. At this point you have no assurance that the documents you have were filed properly. The disclaimer on Legalzoom's website says the following: The information provided in this site is not legal advice, but general information on legal issues commonly encountered. LegalZoom's Legal Document Service is not a law firm and is not a substitute for an attorney or law firm. Your access to and use of this site is subject to additional terms and conditions.
So the way I see it is that yes, they screwed up, they owe you a new folder and embossing stamp (and anything else you may have received from them with the wrong name on it.) Otherwise, they owe you nothing.
