Your insurance premium is lower with a $500 dollar deductible than a $0, $100 or $250 deductible, why would you choose a $500.00 deductible if you cannot afford to absorb that much of the loss should something happen? Why should my premiums go up because you don't want to abide by the contract? I cary a $500.00 deductible because I can afford that should a loss occur, Perhaps you or your wife can sue the owner and driver of the other car in small claims for any unreimbursed out of pocket exenses.
