Are you serious? All this over a $7 can opener that you tried to return when you knew it was beyond the return period? You really are a tool! I don't think they are shaking in their boots over losing your business.
The icing on the cake here is that you are going to waste money sending them a letter return receipt! I'm sure they'll jump right on that.
Your son's military service has no bearing on this complaint.
