Let me see...this is typically the time of year when people do holiday shopping, so naturally there are going to be more carts around.

Cart-chasers have to go after carts that people were too lazy to walk a few extra feet and put in the cart corrals.

I seldom go to Wal-Mart at all. I only go if I have to. I do my grocery shopping at a local chain. And since I don't keep Xmas it's easy for me to skip Wal-Mart.
