We stayed at a Motel 6 in Council Bluffs Iowa this past weekend. I went to the website and looked for the cheapest hotel, but with a higher rating. Best Western and Chalet Motor Inn were ranked about #18 out of 18 hotels listed. I went for Motel 6, as it was ranked #6. Yeah!
We could tell, upon our arrival, that it was a no-frill's sort of place. But, they were cordial and respectful. No suprises or over-charges. Nothing that we did not see up front. It was reasonably priced and it was affordable at 45 a night.
A few things that were upleasant were the slamming doors and our door that kept on wanting to deadbolt itself as I went out. Irritating.
A good thing was, I asked the manager if my wife and children could stay until 3 or 4 and he said no problem. Our checkout was meant for 11am that morning. That was really nice of him to do that.
I might stay there again sometime. It was ok, except for the loud night-club a parking lot away and outside our door. I suppose I could stay on the interstate side of the building next time, eh?
