I work at an apple retailer, and while I cannot speak for Apple itself, I hpe to help a little by saying that sadly, prices aren't likely to get much lower.

I am not sure how it is at other stores, but I know we only make about 20-30 dollars off each Ipod sale. The rest goes to apple itself. This MAY just be because we're a reseller and not an apple or mac store itself.

I am hoping though they will drop in price so I can get one myself (I get it at cost, which for a shuffle is actually only 5 dollars LESS than what others pay).
