i think that if you are telling the unvarnished truth then they are guilty at best of being tactless. five minutes or even ten is not enough time to try on clothes. you need to get to the store earlier. they could have been more polite, but so could you, because showing up so close to closing is rude, too. again, this is dependant on trusting that you aren't putting a positive spin on your side of the story and a negative one on theirs. just go earlier next time. on a sidenote, please thank your husband for his service, as an american i truly appreciate what he and the other troops are doing.
