I'm split on this one. While I certainly agree that taking the site down the weekend prior to the tax deadline was kind of dumb, wasn't procrastinating kind of silly too? You point out at least a couple of times that you are a procrastinator, so maybe it's time to change that?

Many companies have scheduled maintenance days throughout the month. Was this advertised anywhere on their site? The banking institutions that I've always worked with actually have a message posted on their site a week or so before the scheduled maintenance. That way their customers are aware of the issue. I think I would have been more upset if they didn't announce this ahead of time. Also, for how long did Chase take the site down for? I can't imagine it was for more than 2 or 3 hours. This would also help me form a more educated opinion as to whether Chase was really in the wrong here.
