You've had the Ipod for 4 years. As others have pointed out, it's not uncommon for these gadgets to last only 2 - 3 years. I don't know what prices are currently on the new models of Ipods, or what you paid originally for yours. So, only you really know if it's worth spending $144 to receive a refurbished model.
