I wonder if the expired items ever got pulled from the shelves? If they didn't (or at least check out the section), that could possibly be the fault of the manager (again).


I was an assistant manager in training, restocking/rotating 20 oz. soda bottles in a cooler (in a small pizza restaurant). I found some expired bottles in the back of the cooler, obviously no one had rotated stock for months (and soda has a long shelf life). I brought the offending bottles to the manager's attention. You know what he said? Put them up front, where they'll get sold the quickest. Luckily, no one noticed or complained about purchasing an expired bottle of soda. And the manager ... he was much older than I am ...
