You obviously have no legal experience, because this statement is ridiculous and false. Just because there is no law saying you MUST produce a receipt doesn't mean a store can't require it. And there certainly isn't a law prohibiting stores from requiring shoppers to produce them on demand.

Quite honestly, you had a valid complaint, but the near-histrionics detract so much from that complaint, nevermind that you're still dwelling on this THREE YEARS LATER.
