The manager who said she isn't allowed to ask how old the customer is is full of it. Now, minors can't enter into contracts -- but I don't know that that applies to putting clothes on layaway.

Also, depending on the state, your minor child (age 16 or 17, depending on the state) can get married without your permission.

So take 'em to small claims court. They've already made it clear that they aren't going to give you the money back.

Or let your daughter learn a lesson.
