Re: Very Dissatisfied with Legalzoom.com
by JustSomeParalegal - Posted Sun July 6, 2008 @ 12:22 AM

Excuse me, folks?

LegalZoom is supposed to be a law firm, correct? It is their duty and responsibility to get documents and names right. Don't blame the victim for what this poor excuse for an on-line law firm did. Lawyers and paralegals are supposed to know better. (Do some of you work for LegalZoom or something? How much did they pay you to blame their latest victim?)

First of all, don't ever trust anything claiming to be legal with the name "zoom" attached. Not only is it not professional, but the name has "rip-off" written all over it.

Do not EVER use an "on-line legal firm". They should be banned by the Bar Association, actually, for unethical practices and criminal intent to defraud consumers.

Always seek the council of a private attorney. If you can not afford one, contact your local Bar Association and ask for any pro bono programs or low income legal clinics in your area.

You can even learn how to do some things by yourself, you do not HAVE to have an attorney for most things, although it's a good idea because that legal advice is important, and as one poster already stated, if you don't seek good legal advice it may come back to haunt you later.

Any firm that screws people over or does not get the documents right is liable to correct their mistakes. I think that the party who wrote this should consider filing a legal suit against LegalZoom.Com, and send a letter of complaint to California's Attorney General and to the California State Bar. Also send copies to your local State Bar and Attorney General. Consider filing a BBB report, too -- although the BBB isn't that helpful anymore.

Just some ideas for you.
