I thought the details would be worse, but it still reeked of pure laziness. I cleaned hotel rooms for two years, from 14 to 16 (couldn't work a cash register until 16 back then), and I never cut corners, ever. My coworkers were just as diligent, so far as I knew.

I don't know why we cared so much. Employment laws were being broken all over the place (forced overtime but NO pay at all for it), guests don't tip (TIP YOUR ROOMCLEANER!!! THey need it more than you do!), we made minimum wage but they docked pay if a room took longer than 30 minutes to clean.

It sucked. I enjoyed working on the pig farm MUCH more.

Tip your hotel maids as well as you can. I do $5/day.
