Fios & Service Area
by jigglyjello - Posted Fri February 27, 2009 @ 8:30 PM

I use to work as a contractor doing the design and engineering for the Fios in different areas, Florida, Oregon, Indiana etc etc.

I do know how it works and what not.

They have main trunk cables running all around our area, They serve the business literally at the entrance of our neighborhood and they service the neighborhood across the street from us thats actually farther out of the city limits.

We just happen to be a "lower income" neighborhood. I pulled the maps to check for cable and such in our area before we moved out here because noone at verizon would actually tell us if we would be able to get it or not. Thats how I found this out.

I had never had such horrible customer service from them in my life until now and it was bad from phone to in person. And I have yet to receive an apology an inquiry anything. When I called to disconnect and stop DSL activation etc on monday they asked why and I told them. Pretty much the only thing they tried was well there might be someone we can send you to that would get you your free modem.

I just said no. I dont want to have to deal with this attitude and behavior every time we have an issue, outage or need.
