Glad I'm not alone. I'm in a bit of a different boat though. Have a business platinum card with a 37k limit. I was running a balance between 9 and 11k a month, with about 2-3k per month in charges AND payments....

Decided to make an equipment purchase of 6k and within 24 hours I had a phone call that my limit was reduced to what equates to my new balance after the 6k purchase. That's right 17k credit limit, down from 37k !!

They were totally uncaring on my phone call and offered up that they would NOT consider increasing it back. And yes, they fed me the same story about updated information from the credit bureaus was used in their decision. RIGHT. My FICO hasn't change, it's rock solid at 730-740 and has been for years. No other change in accounts or balances either!

Goodbye American Express after 15 years! I believed them to be a business partner, and used the card as a tool like many others. I simply cannot do business with them anymore!
