normally, i don't side with the letter writer. you are an exception. i think you are right to be upset. it angers me to the point of fury when i'm in a hurry and cashiers are yakking with the person ahead of me about nothing. you can be cordial and still move the line along. while she's making that person happy she's ticking off the people behind him. you deserve an apology and the cashier should get a refresher course in "moving the line along while being cordial." you do not deserve a 25 dollar gift certificate. i would give you a free meal, around a six or seven dollar value.
