You said in one of your many posts: "I used to go to gay bars every weekend, when I was a young person with
bad judgement, and I collected anime porn, so I know whereof I speak when I say it's wrong."

WRONG FOR WHOM? Wrong for YOU. YOU. Not me, not Icono, not Erik, not a bunch of other people who feel differently.

My LIBERAL friends, very much believe in God and are just the most amazing parents I've been around. I'm very humbled by the job they've done to create (well, help shape) their children to become thoughtful, caring human beings. I asked one friend/mom if she'd let her kid watch MTV when he got older (this was back when MTV actually showed music videos), and she said, "Sure, but I'll watch them with him so I know what he's watching and can give him my thoughts/opinions." She also took him to a gay pride parade at a very young age (the Twin Cities has the largest gay pride parade west of Chicago--yes, larger than San Francisco, folks). Her attitude, and it's the attitude of most parents I socialize with, is that the more things you expose your kids to, and voice your opinion/create a conversation in response to those things, the better able they'll be to make smart decisions later in life.

Does this mean we should show a kid pornographic magazines or movies? OF COURSE NOT. But neither does it mean sheltering them from anything YOU may find offensive. The job of a parent is to prepare their children to eventually leave home and be productive, confident adults.

So if you're surfing the 'net with your 12 year old and accidentally hit a porn site (such as whitehouse.com), of course you close it once you see what's there, but you have a conversation about it. About how it portrays women in an unrealistic way, how sex ideally involves love and respect, among other topics.

And studies show that a very large percentage kids as young as 12 go looking for porn, mainly because they've heard about it and are curious about what the other/older kids are talking about.

Just because someone isn't conservative to the degre you are doesn't make it appropriate to accuse that person of being an immature teenager. I'm a 38-year-old adult and I love porn. I also think it's atrocious that so much clothing for young girls makes them look like hookers. I can enjoy something meant for adults and still know that kids deserve to be treated like kids.
