And legally the sites can't give the info out... AOL did once and got smacked with a giant lawsuit and lost

if i remember correctly....

it was some AOL forum, a chat room I think...

A military man was discussing his sexual preference in public.

A military wife (officer's wife i think) saw it and contacted AOL and demanded they give over the man's user information.

The user information was then used to kick the man out of the military.

The now-fired military man sued AOL and won.
