I just feel bad for the employee. I am sure she did not want to be there anymore then the OP wanted her there. WalMart could and will fire her for not showing up. Should she lose her job because she is ill? We all have to make choices and sacrifices and some are not easy. IF I had to chose between having my job and going to work sick and staying home and losing my job...well I can assure you that I will be at work. Of couse I would present the most pitiful example of a human who is sick and should be home in bed to the point that I woujld be sent home.
