This is an issue that can easily be rectified by the store. As soon as you noticed it was missing, you should have gone back or at least called an informed them of the issue. It likely was set aside that they simply overlooked it. After you left, they might have noticed it and wondered why you never came back.
When I worked at Wendy's, the manager had a board of people who we owed food to.
