This program sounds like it was destined for failure.

First or all, it was "while the money lasts." Then, some retailers gave instant rebates, while others did not, and it came from the state.

I found one press release that says Sears would "assist the customer with filing for the rebate electronically." To me, this means Sears was supposed to help you submit a claim, and the state would issue the refund.

As far as Sears not being part of the rebate program at all, I find that hard to believe.
