the grad. (I'm a teacher, first year in this particular building.)

The grad introduced me to a retired couple who were his "third set of grandparents". We spent a couple of hours talking, and they talked a lot about their travel experiences. Many of those were instances where the transportation had issues.

Planes delayed for multiple reasons. Trains delayed because of accidents on the tracks or avalanches or whatever. Driving trips delayed for multiple reasons.

This couple merely pulled out their board games or decks of cards, and invited other passengers to join in. They taught others to play the games. They had conversations.

They made the best of each situation.
