Re: Delta's Padding Of Their Bottom Line Ruined Our Vacation and Father's Day

Y'know, on the one hand, I'm sympathetic. You spent a lot of money on this vacation and obviously put a premium on the experiences - horse back riding, night clubs, glow worms, etc - and admittedly, unexpected delays and hassles do not bring the best out of everyone and it's a pain to play run around with phone reps who are just trying to do their jobs, so a twinge of sympathy here and there.
But, on the other hand, the chance to go on a vacation again with my entire family? Where the worst thing we had to worry about were clean underwear (sinks are great!) and no makeup (meh, who cares, they've seen me at three in the morning)?
As the commercials say, priceless.
To put it in perspective - you were all together, you were all safe, you obviously had the money needed to pay for necessities if not luxuries and in the end, you got your luggage.
The important thing, the thing you should have remembered at the time is that you were all together and you were safe. In ten years, you won't remember the nightclubs or the glow worms or the bathing suit coverups, but you would have remembered the laughter and the time spent together. You would have remembered the love.
What I wouldn't give to have one more family vacation with my entire family, resort or no resort, luggage or no luggage. It's the people who are important, not the things we use as fillers.
Delta created a hiccup, you turned it into the plague.
