First off, AOL doesn't owe you anything. Driver conflicts, while unfortunate, are a fact of life if you have a computer. If companies gave customers a couple hundred bucks every time they had a driver conflict, every hardware and software company on earth would be out of business.

More specifically, your use of AOL and its software falls under its license agreement, which surely says something about how much liability the company has if something goes wrong, which is likely little or none.

That said, AOL software does tend to be buggy--Google "ATWPKT2.SYS" and you'll find many reports of crashed systems and such. But that's nothing new, AOL has been crappy for more than a decade now. Were you somehow not aware of that? Users of AOL get what they deserve and deserve what they get.
