You know, if you were talking about how nobody else ever had you take the license out he might have thought you were only pretending to be unable to do it because there was something wrong with the license. I'm not saying that that excuses rude behavior, but it may have been a factor.

I do agree with others about getting a new wallet, though. I have to take my license out fairly regularly, and I am not a habitual arrestee either. My guess is that more and more people will start expecting you to do that over time.

I recognize that you come from the "Live free or die!" state, but I do hope you're not prepared to die for the freedom to leave your ID in your wallet. :)
