furious about commercials, cashiers, and CSMs
by Wanita T. - Posted Wed December 15, 2004 @ 12:00 AM

I would like to bring your attention a complaint I have about the experience at your store, located on Telegraph Rd, St. Louis, MO, and the commercials I've been seeing on television. I am extremely upset about this, and I hope you are able to resolve this situation.

While I was watching television last night, I saw a new commercial for Wal Mart. Now, its bad enough that you aired commercials that were very anti-coupon (stating cutting coupons is a waste of time, prices so low, you don't even need coupons, etc), but NOW, I'm getting VERY angry at the implications of this NEW commercial about REBATES and REFUNDING! First of all, let me say that I use coupons on EVERYTHING, and I also send off for rebates almost RELIGIOUSLY! I find it INTOLERABLE that Wal Mart, the largest mass-merchandiser in the COUNTRY, would be so CRASS as to state coupon usage and sending off for rebates is a WASTE OF TIME!
The stores are also really bad about coupon usage! I can't go into a Wal Mart and use my coupons without each individual coupon being scrutinized by your cashiers, and even MANAGEMENT! Somebody from ACCOUNTING usually has to come out and tell the cashier OR THE MANAGER that my coupons are ok to use! I'm tired of the hassles and lack of knowledge on your employees' part as well as seeing commercials that make me want to throw something at the television!

I seriously doubt that I will ever buy from your store again, and I will urge everyone I know to steer clear as well. In the past, quite frankly, I've been very dissatisfied with you. I usually visit more than 15 times per month. I usually spend more than $80.

Here's what I'd like to see Wal-Mart do about this: first off, I want Wal Mart to pull those offending commercials off the air. Then, I want Wal Mart to TRAIN THE EMPLOYEES AND MANAGEMENT on coupon use! I'm tired of being treated like a CRIMINAL at the check-out lanes! I get the impression that the cashier, and even the CSM at times thinks that I'm STEALING from the store!

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
