Sony Rewards Points Should Not Expire
by Brian C. - Posted Tue January 1, 2008 @ 12:00 PM
I held a credit card from Citibank that became a Sony Rewards Card. At first I used that card all the time and accumulated a large amount of points to use for Sony Products. I thought there would be a time I could accumulate enough points where I could redeem the points for a TV or a home entertainment system. Well I was offered a few balance transfers and I took advantage of them so I had to stop using the card for purchases so I wasn't able to accumulate points during that time. I recently was about to use the card to make a few large purchases and I noticed over 18,000 points were expired. WHY would you have points expire? Unless you were rich it would take years to accumulate enough points to make a large redemption, but if the points expire CAN'T REALLY DO THAT CAN YOU! I emailed Customer Service a few times and recieved no help.
I would like Sony Rewards to give the expired points back and take the rules about expiring points away. There is no point to this rewards program if you can't buy anything with the points. If this doesn't happen, I want a Gift Certificate to an electronics store, like Best Buy, for the expired points, to enable me to use these points that I rightfully earned. If I don't get anything that I deem satisfactory, I will just cancel the Chase Sony Rewards Card solely based on SONY not being very customer friendly and never to purchase a SONY product again.
