Extremely Rude Customer Service at Hallmark in Snellville, GA
by Kimberly1 T. - Posted Tue February 26, 2008 @ 3:53 PM
I went to my local Lisa's Hallmark today in Snellville, GA looking for a frame for my friend's ultrasound picture. When I was in the store I found one and stopped an employee walking by to inquire if they carried anymore. She pointed to another frame that said "it's a girl" and I asked if she had anything that was non gender specific. She replied, "No, we don't have much of a demand since MOST people go to a baby store for that item". I thought this was rude, but let it go. When checking out my daughter kept saying she had to go to the bathroom. When I asked the same employee if they had a restroom she replied, "Not a public one. If you need to use a restroom walk down to Publix". When she handed me my card I took it from her hand and she began YELLING at me in front of my child and other customers. She said I came in with an attitude and was rude and being nasty. When I asked how I had an attitude when all I was doing was asking about a frame and the restroom, she just kept yelling "that's fine you just be rude if that's what you want to be today, you just be rude, you are rude" over and over again. I promptly took my child and left the store and as I was leaving she was yelling to another customer about me and how "rude" I was!
I tried calling Hallmark's 1-800 number to complain but they told me I would have to call back to the store. I explained that I didn't want to talk to the same person who just yelled at me and the customer service rep said he was sorry that was my only option. I called a friend who shops there often and she informed me the woman who was so rude to me IS the manager! I was so upset as was my 3 year old daughter and I'm even more upset that the Hallmark company allows their store employees to act like this - even if it is a franchise.
First of all have a customer service complaint line.
Get rid of the employee who spoke so rudely to me or at least explain that you NEVER yell at customers, especially in front of their children and other customers - no matter what!
