Replace broken cell phone
by William E. - Posted Sat May 10, 2008 @ 7:24 AM

My wife's cell phone broke, so we went to the local Verizon store to get a new phone. We find out that we can replace the phone with the cheapest phone available ($80) but only if we sign up for another 2-year contract! We don't have to extend the contract for another 2 years if we pay $200 for a $20 phone! What kind of B.S. is this? As a result, I have decided to sever all ties with Verizon. I'm cancelling my home phone and going with Vonage; I'm cancelling our cell phone when the current contract expires and going with AT&T; I'm not going to touch Verizon DSL and will stick with cable.

Change your idiotic policy and let a current Verizon customer replace a phone without your idiotic strong-arm methods. Once again, you preach customer service but practice something else. Don't you people realize I will extend my contract forever if your customer service is good? You still don't get it!
