You've lost a life long customer...

Last week I bought my daughter a coat from the Target store on St. Charles Rock road in Bridgeton Mo. I paid $45 for it...
I paid cash.
Today she came home from school and the zipper was broken - the metal zipper mechanism was sheered off. It was a complete manufacturers defect.
I took her back to the store tonight to make an even exchange - same coat - same size - just one with a WORKING ZIPPER.
I was told that without a receipt they could do nothing for me. Not an even exchange. Not anything. I was left with a broken coat which I paid $45 for only 5 DAYS AGO!
WHY would I have kept the receipt?!?! She was WITH me when we bought the coat so I KNEW it fit, it wasn't for a gift, I had NO INTENTION of EVER returning it - I didn't know it was a poorly made piece of CRAP!
Your no even exchange without a receipt is the most asinine policy I have ever heard.
As it is close to FREEZING here I immediately went across the street to Kohls and paid ANOTHER $50 and bought my daughter ANOTHER coat.
I have been campaigning for people to leave shopping at walmart for years - and now after tonight's fiasco not only will I NEVER go back to another TARGET I will be forced to go back to shopping at WALMART.
You have lost a life long customer.
Apologize, take back this worthless coat and give me my money back! ( I would have taken an even exchange BEFORE I had to put MORE money out on ANOTHER coat )
