shirt

I went to Nordstrom a couple of weeks ago during their anniversary sale. According to my receipt I went on July 18, 2009. So I went to the BP department and I found this really cute ruffled sleeveless shirt. I looked for my size and couldn't find it. One of the workers asked if I needed help and I told her I needed a size small on this shirt. Her reply was whatever is out that's all we have. She then said she would check if any other stores would have it and I got lucky because a couple store had it. I ended up ordering the shirt. She also then said well it's under $25 and so you will need to pay $5 for shipping and so I agreed. I bought the shirt from store #422, reg# 2068 and tran# 8259. 5 to 6 days later I got the shirt and noticed one of the button was missing. A couple of days after getting the shirt I went to another Nordstrom store# 420 to exchange it for another one. The store I went to didn't have any at all. I was lucky enough that one of the workers was able to assist me. First she called the alteration department to see if they had the same or similar button and they didn't. So she decided to call another store to see if they have it. After 30 minutes or so being on the phone she finally found one...I believe all the way from Washington. So again all I can do is wait for the shirt to arrive. 5-6 days later the shirt arrived. I looked at it and noticed the button was MISSING again. After seeing this the second time I was furious!!! By they way the second receipt when I re-ordered the shirt was on August 1, 2009 store# 420, reg# 6161 and tran# 8779. A few days after that I decided to return the shirt since I DID NOT want to deal with this again. On August 7, 2009 I went to store# 425 to return the shirt. I asked the worker why I'm only getting $21.74 back for the shirt when I originally paid for $26.74 and she said that I don't get the $5 shipping I paid for back. I was so upset that I didn't want to argue in front of people and make a scene...and that's why I'm here to basically complain. By the way where I returned the shirt the last time was store# 425, reg# 9376 and tran# 1861. What I don't understand is why Nordstrom will take a pair of shoes back that has been worn, but they can't return my $5 or better yet sell a shirt that's not missing ANY button(s)???? In my opinion Nordstrom is a upper class store than Macy's but after this incident I'd rather shop at Macys.
I think Nordstrom should have the workers check if ALL the buttons are there before they ship ANY clothing. All I can say is I wasted time going from one store to the next and in the end I didn't end up with the shirt I wanted.
