Stop the Irrelevant Ad's Target!
by T. B. - Posted Thu March 17, 2011 @ 9:36 PM

This concerns the Park West Store located between San Pedro Ave and Blanco Rd in San Antonio, Texas. On the last 3 times I have been to this store and checked out, I was handed a print out ad for Pampers Diapers. Now I could understand it if I had just purchased a baby product. I dont buy baby products nor did I buy them tonight. Everything I bought was pet related. I bought a 5lb bag of Iams Toy Breed Puppy food, a 7lb bag of Purina Indoor Cat Chow, Out Brand Puppy Pads, Toothbrush and paste for dogs, a 20lb container of Tidy Cat Cat Litter and Bounty Paper towels (well sorta pet related)...however, NOT ONE ITEM is baby related.

It would even be ok if there was a coupon attached to the ad..there's not. I could give the coupon to someone who did buy diapers. Basically Target is printing out an ad and I feel its a waste of paper. I dont even have the option to decline it since its handed to me with my receipt. It would be ok if it were even related to what I am buying! HEB (a Texas based grocery store) does the same thing, except there is usually a coupon attached and its always related in some way to what I just bought. For instance, when I buy Lean Cuisine, I will get a coupon for Buy 5 and Get 1 Free of Lean Cuisine. If there is not a coupon then its a list of items similar to what I have just bought. Usually HEB brands. I dont mind this. What I do mind is being handed a piece of paper that I have no use for. Its annoying. I dont know if the other Targets do the same thing or not. I usually just go to this one since its on my way home from work. I love Target. I would rather shop with you then WalMart any day of the week! I think you have better customer service, better quality of products then Target does.

If Target is going to print out the ad's then have coupons attached and make them more relevant to what the customer just bought.
