reactivation policy

Stated above that my feeling on this matter are in the "annoyed" range, rather than the "furious" range only in an attempt to seem rational. Though I don't really feel like being rational at this moment. In a nutshell. Due to a computer error a $2.00 service charge was placed on my Sears account after I had paid it off to a zero balance. Thinking I owed nothing, I neglected to open statements, and this TWO DOLLARS snowballed. My long standing account with Sears, (and I believe Home Depot as a result as well) was closed. Citi has after hours of calls, Citi is sending a letter of correction to credit bureaus, and reversing the incorrect charges, but says accounts must simply be reapplied for, not reactivated. No thanks. Don't wish to have another inquiry (or two) appear on my credit file. You have cost Sears and Home Depot my business and I have informed their offices of this.

Reevaluate your policy. Apologize in plain language, not ambiguous legalese.
