THEFT

THEFT!!

On 4/22/2012 I took my very first Cruise ever with a friend. We made sure we got the perfect balcony room next to the spa where it would be quiet and no rif raff and we could relax with the adults only serenity lounge just steps away. I will always look for the peacefull end of the boat that is for sure. I can say that the time I spent on the boat was minimal because we had 7 days and 6 stops. So we were off the boat more than on. And after each day at the Islands we would return to early supper and catch what might be left of an early show. We were in bed each night by 9pm and up early and in the gym by 6am and off to the Islands on time. :) So we spent little time on board to even observe who we were cruising with.

I had the greatest experiences in a life time on every Island. [I am not a drinker or partier or over eater]I was thrilled with the complete package [excursions]. Each Island we were lead by tour guides or excursions of well informed ppl and they made us feel safe and kept us informed. When we would stop at road side shops I did not feel the need to tote along my back pack or belongings. We would quickly say hellos and do a little sight seeing and then be on our way to our destination.

Even at St Marteens I walked to the grill leaving my back pack on the chair. Now in hind sight I see I was nieve. However... It wasnt an issue up until the very last night of my Carnival Victory 7 day Southern Caribbean Cruise. That anything was wrong.

Our last night on the cruise we decided to stay up a little later and see the final show and comedy show with our dinner table mates. Then we decided to go to the disco for an 1hr.

Once we were seated I took off my 5x3 over shoulder purple theft proof purse that held my pink/purple camera with 4GB of memory, my samsung black phone with 4GB memory and $60.00 along with my looser metal I was awarded earlier in the night for playing on their game show. I took this off and laid it next to me so it was in my view. Some where in the matter of minutes it simply disappeared.

I was stunned for a few moments and began frantically looking. The pictures were all i had as suveniours. And my phone and camera had them all. My phone also contained information I will never get back.

I went to security immediately and they seemed to himhaw around and had me explain it 4 or 5 times. All the time I was asking them to please turn on the lights or to look with me. Instead they stood at the door way and shined a flashlight in the general area as to where I said it was last seen. They then told me I should go to customer service and file a complaint immediately since my sign and sail card was also in there. I was SHOCKED!

I did go to customer service and it seemed like I was in a dream reapeating my self over and over as to what was in it and what it looked like and all the while they didnt seem to really care and were chattering back and forth to each other and laughing about something that had nothing to do with my complaint. I told them I was offended and they just kept appologizing. But still being rude.

The next morning under the door I got two things.. One was the sign and sail bill that was now 30.00 due and a letter telling me they were sorry they did not find my lost item or money. Again I felt sickened.

I was with a friend and my friend said for me to go and take care of the sign and sail. I did and some where in that rush I lost sight of my friend. I had no way to contact her and they said they would not page her to meet me anywhere. I explained my phone issue and stolen property and again all I got were meaningless appologies. And it was very costly to my friend and myself.

So after all of this and after returning home I look at this letter and this complaint I filed and see that the information was nver taken correctly and they could have never found what was stolen because they wrote everything wrong.

I came home and did check my phone bill and I did track down the lady that did steal my items from the disco. She even called me after I had my number turned back on to a new phone. WOW!

Pretty much she gave me the same speel as Carnival.. Oh so sorry. NOTHING.

So now I will pass that info on to Carnival but nothing can get back all the memories I lost on my very first Cruise and in the Southern Caribbean.

Im not so sure how I feel about the Ship. But I do know the agenda was great.

Some thing should have intervened to stop the after math that became of this mess.

I had never Cruised before. Im concerned how this effected me now. The cruise was terrific and the Islands. But the staff handled the incident very wrong and ruined my life time memorys.

Im still traumatized from the theft. Then being contacted by the thief after I got my number back and not hearing anything from Carnival.

What would be ideal is to be able to take the Cruise again and again take the 8 GB of pictures to share with my grandchildren as planned.

Hurt!
