Discount Car Clinic/Magic Brakes Service and Customer Service Issue
by Neha S. - Posted Mon July 9, 2012 @ 12:34 PM

I just moved to the area (Missouri City, TX) and chose Discount Car Clinic as my oil service company. I went in Friday 7.6.12 for a oil change. I was told it would take 30 min b/c there was no one waiting in line ahead of me. However, the lady who came in after me for the same service was done and gone before mine was. So far its fine. On Sunday I realize that oil has leaked onto my driveway in two spots. it had been raining all weekend, so i didn't notice till sunday evening. I go in Monday morning for a fix and a refund. they said it was oil residue and that is what leaked. I pretended to believe them and asked for a refund before it was taken to be fixed and after. the worker said he would have to talk to the manager. I said fine. the manger came out and gave me the same story about residual oil (never happened in all 7 years of owning the car). I said that is fine, I am new to the area and chose you all as my new center and i am asking for a refund. the manger said ok and the guy at hte counter said I got a free oil change. I also asked how to clean my driveway as well and hte manger said he would send someone out. I left without thinking twice. I get home and realize I have no receipt for my refund. I call and the guy at the counter said I got a free oil change. I said that is not what i asked for let me speak to the manger. the manager pretty much told me that i never asked for a refund and that I was being negative and unforgiving eventhough he is bending over backwards. He said he would give me a refund if I came back in with my CC. Come back in a 3rd time, when i had asked for one at least 4 times while i was there. I was livid. He kept talking over me and I told him I am the customer and i have a complaint. He said I was using the customer is always right lingo to my advantage. He stated he never knew of the converstation of a refund. He just chose not to hear it b/c I would not ask for a free oil change when I am planning on not going back EVER. They seemed accomodating at first, but the manager insulted me and told me I am unforgiving. Well, at least he sent the guy to clean my driveway who was really nice. I hope it comes out of my driveway since this is a new house!

Actually apologize for being at fault at the beginning. not come up with a lame excuse...i mean how is there that much residual oil??? i don't know! never happpened before to me. Also, I hope in the future the managment doesn't speak like that to anyone again. Trying to belittle a customer is not very smart especially when the commuity around here promotes family run businesses.
