Is this what you call fair trade & practice?

I have been with t-mabile for the past 7+ years while I was in Texas. Recently I moved back to North Carolina due to I have terminal Non-Hotchkins Lymphoma Stage 4. I wanted to cancel my service because I could get on one of my family's plans for much cheaper. Early in June I went into the local t-mobile office in Hickory NC to get them to cut my phone off...I had already gotten another phone from another carrier....the office contacted customer care while I was there....they told me in the office to tell them that it was due to signal and taking their advise...when the sales person handed me the phone to talk to customer care, I did as they instructed and told them it was due to signal...I also advised them that I already had another phone so I needed this one disconnected imediatly. I was begged to stay with TM and when I refused they told me they hated to loose such a good customer and that my phone would stay activated till july 5th so if I changed my mind I could keep it....once again, I told them that was not necessary....they said that's ok...there will be no additional charge...and that they would keep my number clear for 30 days hoping I would change my mind...once again I told them that was not necessary because I had already gotten another phone and now that I moved back to NC I needed a local number.....they said not to worry...there would be no additional charge and I might want to put a message on the phone saying what my new number was. I waited till I got a late notice so I could be sure it was final.....I called in to make the payment and was told I owed almost another hundred dollars than what my bill was. I explained to the represenative that this was wrong and she argued that that was their standard procedure to wait until the next billing cycle to cut it off and they said their had been activity on that number to which I replied ofcourse there was...people in TX still called and my e-mail was still coming to the phone...I tried to reason with them and even went to the supervisor...to no avail.....This is plain out fraud and misrepresentation. I will gladly pay the prior months bill but not for the additional month's "standard proceedure". As I said in the beginning I will gladly pay the $151.28 but not the additional charge. I should have known that you would use this lat payment to try and screw me out of even more money. I am now unemployed due to my illness and find this kind of extortion to be the lowest of any company I have ever delt with. You may try to come after me but you will have to chase me to my grave for any payment until you rectify this situation. Where is your humanity that you want to try and screw a a person for his last few dollars before he dies. Shame on t-mobile for their practices, I hope they feel good about this. I will make sure that everyone I come in contact with until I die knows of these underhanded tactics.

Sincerely

Phillip D

The right thing and what they told me over the phone.....as I said...I will pay the 151.28 because I am an honest person. Until I have this resolved, I dont care what you try to do to me...I will be gone soon and you will get nothing
