TXU Sucks!!!
Posted Tue June 10, 2003, by T.G. written to TXU Electric & Gas Company
Write a Letter to this Company
This letter is being sent to you to let you know what a horrible company you have. It is clear that you can care less about the people your service and have serviced for years. You do not provide anyone with the benefit of doubt that they really can not pay the outrageous amounts TXU charges for electricity.
You have shut off service with claims of notifying people and you have a collection department that doesn't call to collect anything. We wont talk about Customer Service because we both know they suck which leads me you my annoucement of the Website TXUSUCKS.com coming soon!
I am sure Reliant Energy will get a kick out of the extra business! And your dissatifed customer's will also have a fun place to post all the sucky things you have done!
Here's what I'd like to see happen: Keep giving us your horrible service it'll all be posted soon!
Oh, and don't try to send the usual lawyer threats which are full of hot air because we both know the Constitution gives us the right to speak freely of our issues with TXU.
Thanks for giving your customers motivation to dislike TXU so much!

Just bought a new house, and have been trying to ser up electrical service. 1 1/2 hours on the phone with TXY, and I decided to go elsewhere. So, hours spent trying to compare conpanies. I'ma bout ready to go to Keroseen lighting, cooking out doors on thegrill, and living with fans and no air condiioning..........
OK. So everyone agrees that TXU sucks........
But no one has given the name of a compnay that provides better pricing, plans, service, etc.
The solution is not just to let everyone know how bad TXU is, but to ALSO share the options that have been found, and empower others to make a better choice also.
So, come on: what are the much better options, companies, plans, etc.

TXU Sucks so much! We moved in from out of state last year and signed up with TXU. We paid the initial connection fee and gave them the correct address. 8 months later they decide to send us our first bill for over $1,000. 8 MONTHS LATER!!! OVER $1,000!!! They insisted the whole amount was due in 11 days. When we called them they said they had had a "printing problem" and would put us on a payment plan. a printing problem is when you run out of ink and you have to run to office depot to get new ink. a printing problem IS NOT when you don't send someone a bill for 8 months and then demand immediate payment. We are still fighting this whole thing months and months later. they continue to put us on payment plans and then before sending us even one bill they send us a disconnection notice. what a bunch of crooks! we are moving in a month and we are definitely switching companies! I hate TXU and I will be telling everyone I possibly can how terrible they are! No one should have to go through what we have been going through. we can't afford the mistakes TXU keeps making!

I am in complete agreement with you. I have been fighting them for over 6 months concerning a meter misread where they attempted to charge me over $500 for an electric bill in Novemeber and again in December. When I finally got them to re-read the meter after asking for them to do so for two months they admitted they were wrong and supposedly corrected everything.
What a fool I was to believe that it was truly corrected...one month after they supposedly corrected the situation and my statement I get a disconnect notice for a past due amount of $1100!!!
Once again I had to call their customer service line where I spent another 30 minutes dealing with an incompetent supervisor going through the entire story again. When she finally realized that I was right she ensured me that it would be taken care of and I would hear from her or someone else no later than 1pm...well it's three weeks later and still no call from her.
I did finally receive a corrected and accurate statement in the mail...or at least I thought I did until I looked on-line and the statement that I received in the mail still does NOT match what the on-line statement says. So once again I spent my time trying to rectify a situation caused by their incompetence.
And do you think over the past 6 months anyone from TXU has called to personally apologize or offer me any type of compensation for all my time and efforts devoted to correcting a situation caused by their lack of detail and follow through? OF COURSE NOT!!!

If you need any help with this website let me know. TXU acts as if we have no other options. It's time to show them consumers can and will fight back. I'm all for running them out of business by whatever means available. They sure spend a lot of money advertising how caring they are, but it's a different story when they actually have to deal with a customer. They could care less whether you live or die. All they care about is money and their big fat paychecks. Yes TXU sucks lets get rid of them. It only takes one motivated person to change things and I think we have way more than one motivated person. Lets run TXU stock into the ground and bury it, we can do it.

I have lived in at least seven states in the last six years, and never in my life have I paid so much for power. I most recently came from California, a place where I thought was the highest cost of living in the U.S., but I was wrong. It is 4 cents cheaper per kilowatt hour in California that in Texas.
Further investigation helped me to realize that it was not Texas but only one company, namely TXU that had stupid pricing. I don't want to pay them one more dime then I have to. I switched my company about two minutes ago and I have never felt better.
I wish that everyone in Texas will change their mind and switch companies.

TXU does not care weather you live or die, weather you freeze or dehydrate. Like this poster said, they will never give you the benefit of the doubt. They don't give a damn about personal hardships and will shut you off at the drop of a hat.
Late one day in paying? LATE FEE! REPORT TO YOUR CREDIT SCORE!
Their customer service people have got to be the rudest, most obnoxious I've ever seen.
The PUC in Texas is staffed mostly with former energy company employees who have connections with Texas oil. They are a captured watchdog which is staffed with people who have interest in the energy market. It's a huge conflict of interest that nobody in the Texas government does anything about.
Think the PUC is going to stand up for your rights in the face of TXU abuse? Think again.
The PUC is illegitimate as a regulator. It's obvious the PUC WILL NOT LISTEN to popular anger and frustrations. We aught to be burning effigys outside the BOD's residences, or maybe even harsher things.

Yeah, TXU Sucks! I have tried with no satisfactory response to deal with them. TXU has, over the past few months, posted cancelled online payments and not posted other payments to my account. I have been trying to work with them to make sure that the
account is right and current but during that review process, they disconnected my electricity this past Friday (even though they agreed not to until I had a chance to review documents that were faxed to me
and even sent me a statement saying that my bill wasn't due until Oct 20, 2006).
Against my better judgement (because I needed electricity), I went ahead and paid the bill Saturday morning by phone. I also paid a 145.00 deposit and an 89 dollar same-day reconnect fee. I received
authorization and my bank has confirmed that the transaction was processed for 669.63. I paid by phone following the automated instructions that said this was the fastest and easiest option.
However, TXU will not accept the payment because I paid by phone with a debit card instead of in person with cash. (they had flagged my account as "cash only---since when is a debit card not cash?---due to a mistaken returned check---I got married in May and
changed banks but accidentally sent them a check from the old bank).
TXU will not accept the phone payment, nor will they cancel it. I have been without electricity for 3 days, now. I switched providers but it will take a month for the change to happen.
