furious about commercials, cashiers, and CSMs

I would like to bring your attention a complaint I have about the experience at your store, located on Telegraph Rd, St. Louis, MO, and the commercials I've been seeing on television. I am extremely upset about this, and I hope you are able to resolve this situation.

While I was watching television last night, I saw a new commercial for Wal Mart. Now, its bad enough that you aired commercials that were very anti-coupon (stating cutting coupons is a waste of time, prices so low, you don't even need coupons, etc), but NOW, I'm getting VERY angry at the implications of this NEW commercial about REBATES and REFUNDING! First of all, let me say that I use coupons on EVERYTHING, and I also send off for rebates almost RELIGIOUSLY! I find it INTOLERABLE that Wal Mart, the largest mass-merchandiser in the COUNTRY, would be so CRASS as to state coupon usage and sending off for rebates is a WASTE OF TIME!
The stores are also really bad about coupon usage! I can't go into a Wal Mart and use my coupons without each individual coupon being scrutinized by your cashiers, and even MANAGEMENT! Somebody from ACCOUNTING usually has to come out and tell the cashier OR THE MANAGER that my coupons are ok to use! I'm tired of the hassles and lack of knowledge on your employees' part as well as seeing commercials that make me want to throw something at the television!

I seriously doubt that I will ever buy from your store again, and I will urge everyone I know to steer clear as well. In the past, quite frankly, I've been very dissatisfied with you. I usually visit more than 15 times per month. I usually spend more than $80.

Here's what I'd like to see Wal-Mart do about this: first off, I want Wal Mart to pull those offending commercials off the air. Then, I want Wal Mart to TRAIN THE EMPLOYEES AND MANAGEMENT on coupon use! I'm tired of being treated like a CRIMINAL at the check-out lanes! I get the impression that the cashier, and even the CSM at times thinks that I'm STEALING from the store!

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

As a former Wal-Mart cashier I can tell you that cashiers are trained
- trained to be extremely careful of coupons. You don't know how often
I've had people try to insist expired coupons will still good and even
a few try to pass off fake ones from the internet. Of course, this
doesn't mean everyone who uses coupons is a criminal. I even like to
use them myself. Just remember that you're saving money, even if it
takes a bit longer. Besides, the employees are scrutinizing the coupon
and not you.

Also, I wouldn't take the commericals seriously. The idea the
commericals are trying to convey is that you're saving so much money,
you won't even need coupons. Of course, that's not always true, but
that's just what they are trying to say. There is nothing negative
meant towards those who use coupons.

Those commercials are not meant to be a personal affront, and why you
are taking them to be is beyond me.
Also, the reason the cashiers and managers have to be very careful
with coupons is that many other dishonest people abuse them by trying
to pass off expired ones, ones for the wrong product, and some where
the date was cut off in an attempt to fool the cashier into thinking
they were not expired.
I imagine that they are careful of yours because it sounds like you
use quite a few at a time.

I've seen the commercials. It's just their view. If this offends you,
I implore you to watch a few videos on ogrim.com. Executions,
beheadings, videos of accidents where people are ripped apart. That's
offensive. Not some dumbass commercial. Grow some skin and stop being
so sensitive. It's a cruel world out there and I'd hate for you to
face it unprepared.

Since when does wanting to save as much money as possible mean someone
must be "in bad shape"?

Some of the most frugal people I know (note the term "frugal", NOT
"cheap", they are two different things) are quite wealthy. They don't
HAVE to use coupons but they want to get the most for their dollar.
What's wrong with that??
