RE: PLANETFEEDBACK REFERENCE NUMBER 2226506

Dear Customer Support,

I'm writing to bring your attention to a problem I've had with exchanges and returns with one of your products. I hope Circuit City will address this problem to my satisfaction. This concerns a retailer located at Moreno Valley CA. This incident has left me extremely angry.

Here's my problem: I had an experience with an inexperienced salesman, he was more concerned about selling the extended warranty than the knowledge of the product. His inexperience in the product was not noticed until I opened the box up and saw the product, I returned it.
They charged me $135.00 for an open box return, when it was not my fault the salesman sold me the wrong product. I contacted you last week but no reply. It is on Ticket # 024903195207 at store 249 in Moreno Valley CA

Here's how you can help: Give me a store credit for $135.00

Based on all of my dealings with your company, I am fairly unhappy. I have decided I may do business with you again. Also, I might recommend your company to others.

I know you like to keep your customers happy, so I am sure you'll take steps to rectify this situation. I expect to hear from you soon. Thank you.

Sincerely
once a. customer

Here's how you can help: Refund my 135.00 or give me store credit and I amy walk back in your store if you do not refund me or credit me. I will not forget.

Based on all of my dealings with your company, I am very unhappy. I have decided I probably won't do business with you again. Also, I probably won't recommend your company to others.

I know you like to keep your customers happy, so I am sure you'll take steps to rectify this situation. I expect to hear from you soon. Thank you.

at 4:30 on Sat. Aug.16th. I called the showroom on Van Ness in San
Fran. and sked about the in store financing, he stated that they ahere
offering 12 months interest free, I aske him to confirm that it was
interest free for 12 months he again said it was. I visited the store
and saw a sales person and asked him if it was 12 months interest
free, he stated that it was and I decided to make my purchase. When
we got to the register he then stated that it was 90 days interest
free not 12 months as he and the sales person over the phone stated.
I spojke with the manager and he said he was sorry but that they where
mistaken and it was 90 days.

While waiting to pay, sales person was overheard telling a brazilian
family in english that the computer they where shopping for came with
Windows free and they would not have to pay for it later that it came
with free Norton's (not a trial) all of those things where not true.

Hi , I guess I am not the only person having problems with Circuit
city ! I Bought a DVD home theater system in 2005 .Recently I dropped
& broke the remote control.I contacted their parts department & was
told they cant get one for that model (remember it is only 3 years
old). They informed me I had to go to the manufactuer to purchase one
.I called the manufacturer which will not let me direct purchase one!I
was told by them I am only able to obtain it through their retailer
which is Circuit city only! I called Circuit city and was transfered 3
times until I got a supervisor & this is their online number. After
reaching a customer service supervisor I was informed if they dont
sell that model anymore that they will not order the remote for me .I
asked if this is the Circuit city policy ,that if a customer needs
something from them for a product they purchased from them that they
basically tell the customer to get screwed ? His response was "no that
is not our policy" .So I in turn asked what is your policy ? His
response was "I don't know, Sorry that I can't help you sir" .Then he
hung up on me .
A warning to all go to Best Buy or any other electronics store
.Circuit city does not give a sh*t about its customers!

Hi,

My experience at circuit city is even shittier. I purchased a laptop
computer on the Circuit city 1-800 number with some chick in INDIA at
a great price on 8/31/07. On 9/2/07 I went into the Massapequa NY
Store only to be told I RETURNED THE COMPUTER and the deal was voided.
"HUH"? I said, "I haven't even picked the stuff up yet". Well low and
behold their computer says I returned the stuff to them and because it
is a holiday weekend, they cant honor the deal until they contact
"Corporate". I spoke with the store "director" Daniel, who said "if
it is our fault, we will take care of it" Your Fault!!! of course it
is your fault ASSHOLE!!!Thanks Daniel and Thanks store manager Rosanny
Fernandez for pulling my chain. I even called American express and the
$700+ charge is still on my card!!!! Circuit city I can truly say "YOU
SUCK"!
Signed,
Pissed off in Lindenhurst NY

As a former CC employee I can remember not that long ago. CC sales
people used to give a s**t what they sold to the customer, because
their commission depended on it. If they sold you the wrong thing or
you thought you were sold more than what you needed, you had 30 days
to return the product with no restocking fee. Guess what? The sales
person was charged back the commission for that sale. This always made
sure they knew the products inside out and really listened to what you
needed. Due to industry surveys, you the customer voiced your opinions
that you didnt want to pay slightly higher prices for commission sales
people (product knowledge and actually giving a s**t about the
customer.) You wanted lower prices(Thanks WAL_MART) and less hassle
(Thanks BEST_BUY). So suck it up, CC doesnt deserve all the blame. The
consumers are mostly to blame for the poor service, be carefull what
you ask for.

Same problem different area, sent the below letter thru yahoo groups,
filed a complaint with corprate, and BBB still nothing. I'm thinking
of leagel options.
-R

My name is Richard and I have information I believe to be quite
important regarding a business in Ann Arbor.

At Circuit City in Ann Arbor, the one located just west of hogback rd,
I went into the store to purchase a laptop, specifically a touch
screen HP. I saw the model I wanted to buy but could not get it to
function (turn on) as I was not familiar with any of the controls for
this fancy model.

I proceeded to ask the sales person if it had the stylus pen that I
could use to write with on the laptop and she responded in the
affirmative, so I bought it on the spot, paying $1440 in cash after
tax.

After proceeding to take it home plug it in charge it and reading the
manual on how to use it, I turned it on to find out there was no
stylus nor does it have the touchscreen feature.

I went into the store the following day to explain my situation to the
sales manager, where they told me that I would have to pay a %15
restocking fee as I opened the box, I explained that I was misinformed
by the sales representative and he used the we have a display for you
to play with so you should have known, response.

I decided to go to the store manager and explain what happened, I
asked the sales manager to get the store manager for me, he said ok,
please wait up front. While I waited I watched him call the store
manager, and I could tell he was explaining his side of the story to
his boss. To no surprise I got the exact same response from the store
manager, when I asked to talk to his boss, he responded with "there is
no one higher then me, I am the boss at this store."

I said " I can call corporate", where he rudely stated (pointing to
the number on the side of the wall) be my guest, theres their number.

Well I called the corporate office, filed a complaint, where I was
told, I am sorry, I will "pass it up" but it is up to the store
manager weather to waive the 15% restocking fee or not, which by the
way on a $1440 purchase is about $200, that i would lose because they
lied to me.

This is where I am asking for help, if anyone of you have experienced
similar things at the same Circuit City please let me know, the store
manager I spoke with was named Mark. Any help at all would be greatly
appreciated. I have already told Mark that I will never shop there
again, if this information has caused you to decide the same please
let me know, and let them know. Call the corporate office, or the
local store (which phone numbers I have provided below) and let them
know they can't do this to consumers in our community.

I work hard for my money just like everyone else, losing $200 because
a sales person lied to me, thats money that I could use for groceries,
savings, GAS, or many other things.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I know it was quite allot
and I appreciate it. I have filed a complaint to the BBB, but other
then that I believe there is nothing I can do without your help.

Caveat Emptor? Is this the 1920's? Dicks like you two are paid by
people who need your assistance. If someone asks you about are
product, they are making a decision based on your "expertise". If you
give the wrong advice, then that is your fault. But hey, we don't
mind. We just don't want to be held financially accountable for the
mistakes made by Circuit City (i.e. YOU). A consumer can't reearch
EVERYTHING about a product, that is why you are there. If you want
people to do that, if it were possible, then why are you even there?
To work the register? Fine... get out of the aisles, and on to the
registers. That would be great for me, less time in line, and cheaper
products because I won't have to pay the overhead that assholes like
you create!

Yea man circuit city does suck, we went in and bought a 42 in plasma
tv and a home theatre system, there was only 1 of the home theatre
sytstem that we wanted left and it was an open box, so we were like
what the hell they'l give us a discount which they did. the only thing
missing was the remote control for the theatre system. they said they
would order 1 and it would be at our home sometime the next week. we
bought it on the june 2 2006 and today is the 24 of july, and we stil
dont have it. we have called numerous times to dumbfounded employees
and managers who try to be very helpful, i am really angry we cant
listen to diferent radio stations or properly use the dvd player, so i
am know waiting for a call back from the rigdedale circuit city,
hopefully the manager does becuase the first time we never got it at
all.

seriously.. CC does suck.. I work there. But as for customers who
blame the sales people... wake up! What ever happened to buyer beware?
Its not our fault you morons:

A) have to open products right in the store like we're gunna steal all
the camcorder chargers and sell em on the black market or something.

B) Make a major purchase from a "sales person that doesnt know what
their talking about" and then proceed to not ask about the return
policy before you hand over your credit card. Thats just stupid and
your asking to be f'ed over.

C) blame the sales person is inexperienced even though its obvious
they are like 20 years old and working for a major corporation that
cares only for its managers. Its YOUR job as the customer to know
what you need because it is you with the specific need. I work at cc
and i'll admit i dont know anything, because for me, its just a
friggen job. I dont care about your problems.. and neither does
corporate.

Circuit city sucks yes. However, you, the customer suck a million
times harder

dude, that's perfect. I work for cc to. and it sucks.
but this guy was a moron and had it comming. that was a perfect
reply.

i always love how these jokers get all huffs and puffs about it like
anyone cares and the all time favorite "I'll never shop there again!"
Good. We really honestly couldn't care less. You'll be back for that
$300 laptop anyway. But they'll remember you and if you even get any
service, it would be surprising. We know who to avoid customer wise.
let em wait 15 min. and it's out the door they go. go pester best
buy. I think CC will do just fine without your patronage. HAHAHAHA!
I just wish i could get another job this easy that paid as well and
looked as good on a resume. I'd have some fun with the clowns that
come in here. I have thrown a few people out for making shitty
remarks before. that was fun. they complained to my boss of course.
Did he care? Well, that was two promotions a go so I'd say not to
much. He actually laughed at one. Yea, man. This guy can get bent.

Wow you really are an assclown trying to come on here and seem like a
cool guy. I am so glad to see this company finally crumbling beneath
itself, all of the little pricks that work at these stores are
worthless to society and I cannot wait to see you guys find a new job
that pays nothing. How can you say that pays good? I know people that
have worked there and they have gotten paid in peanuts practically.
Also, how can you say it looks good on a resume? Mcdonalds would be
even better then I'm assuming you bunch of retards that just hang out
doing nothing but sit on your fat asses. Have fun looking for another
job at a gas station of some sort since that is all you will amount to
in life.
